Grandma Helen's Pizza

We have a family dinner on Sundays. Last week we made homemade pizza. When I was little I thought you could only get pizza at the Italian resturants. Then along came Pizza Hut. But when I was about 10 we went to my grandmas for dinner and she made pizzas. It was great and I watched how she did it. My mother doesn't make pizza but I have ever since my kids were little. I never knew how she made the crust so I always bought the kind you mix up from a box. I'm gald I found this recipe:) To feed my family I have to make 4 cookie sheet size pizzas. HB don't like mushrooms, and I don't like pepperoni. So each pizza is different. The boys like taco the best.

Crust
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs
2/3 cups milk

Topping
1 pound italian sausage
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 can sliced mushrooms (drained)
1 cup pizza sauce
1 cup cheese

Brown meat and drain off excess fat. Set aside.

Mix ingredients for crust, form into ball and roll out onto floured surface. Place on greased pizza pan or cookie sheet.

Spread sauce evenly on crust. Add meat, onions, and mushrooms. sprinkle cheese over top. Bake at 450 degrees till crust is lightly brown and center is hot.
bake at 450 degrees till done.
