Now that I am a grandma. Holiday meals are up to me to plan and prepare. So I've been trying new food on the boys each holiday meal. This Christmas I tried a new appetizer that I found in Taste of Home Christmas Classics. It probably would have worked if Jess hadn't seen the canned shrimp, but he did so no one wanted to try it. Except for all of us old people and Hollie. I will not make this for my family again but I will be making it for parties. I'll probably tweak the ingredients a bit add some more horseradish and a little dill to the cream cheese. It only took about 10 minutes to prepare. It was a very easy recipe:) Enjoy!
2 packages(8 ounces each)cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 tespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 bottle(12 ounces) seafood sauce
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
2 cans 6(ounces each)tiny shrimp, rinsed and drained
minced fresh parsley
In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in the seasoned salt,Worcestershire sauce and onion powder. Spread onto a 13-in. platter.
Combine seafood sauce and horseradish; spread over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with shrimp and parsley. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour. Serve with crackers.
